John Patzek

John L. Patzek, 94, of Glenrock, Wyoming passed away on June 19, 2016 at Kloefkorn Home (Central Wyoming Hospice) with his daughter and grandson by his side. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Casper, WY with Fr. Robert Fox officiating. A memorial service and military honors will be held immediately following Mass at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming where he will be inurned. John was born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 20, 1921 to Joseph N. and Mary (Schui) Patzek Sr. He was a resident of Casper since 1942. He served in the Army Air Corps. at the Casper Army Air Base in the 40's. He retired from his plumbing career in 1981 where he was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe-fitters Union. He was an usher and helped care for the flowers at the rectory at Our Lady of Fatima. John enjoyed fishing and water skiing at the Casper Water Ski Club at Alcova Lake and his favorite hobby was building and flying remote control airplanes. John is survived by his son, Robert Patzek of Arvada, CO; daughter Kathy (PJ) Hamilton of Glenrock, WY; granddaughter, Dawn Knight of Worland, WY; grandson, Kent Barnes of Casper, WY; granddaughter, Alicia (Chris) Hedtke of Elma, WA; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Donna (Jim) Swingholm of Lake Havasu City, AZ; two grandsons; and four great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph N. Patzek, Jr. and his sisters, Mary Fabian and Anna Fabian.
