John M. Hinker, 49 of Casper passed away December 25, 2015 at Central Wyoming Hospice. John was born on July 7, 1966 in Sioux Falls, SD to Richard and Karen Hinker. He grew up in Cheyenne and graduated from East High school, he later graduated from WyoTech in Laramie. He spent many years working for the Union Pacific Railroad. He spent the last eighteen years working for Qwest Communications (CenturyLink) as a central office technician . John's last years were spent with his loving partner Amy Miller. He is survived by his son Nick Hinker of Casper, mother Karen Hinker of Cheyenne, brothers Greg (Liana) and Larry (Kim) of Cheyenne, David (Stacey) of Castle Rock, sisters Deb (Bob) Ahlbrecht of Casper, Joan Fangman, Cindy Osborne (Brent), and Lori (Jason) Terwilliger of Cheyenne along with a large extended family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father Richard and his grandparents Eber and Leona Tripp and Frank and Ruth Hinker. John enjoyed a good adventure but most of all he enjoyed being a father. He spent his free time outdoors hunting, fishing and enjoying his cabin in the mountains. He was a very loving man who befriended any child or animal around. His kind and tender heart will be carried by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite humane society. A celebration of life will be held at the VFW Post 10677 (420 N Elk St.) in Casper, WY on January 9, 2016 from 2-5 pm.
