John Gilbert

John Dee Gilbert was born to Ira D. And Fannie Gilbert in Princeton, Indiana on Oct. 5, 1944.  He passed away in Casper, WY on Nov. 20, 2020 at the age of 76 years and 2 months.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Claudine Gilbert, two sons, Johnny Jr. and Danny Wayne Gilbert, a stepdaughter, Tammy Mathis and husband Stan, a stepson, Eddie Adams, 17 grandkids and 6 great grandchildren who affectionally called him Papa John.

John had a fulfilling career in the oilfield starting at age 14 as a deckhand and eventually moving up to drilling completion foreman.  John worked for several companies all through the Midwest but loved Wyoming best.  Thirty years ago John changed careers and went to work for Richardson Trucking moving oilfield equipment.  John was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
