John Gallegos, 61, passed away December 9th 2016. Born in Boulder, Colorado, he was the son of Alex and Mary (Maestas) Gallegos. John and his wife Cheryl spent the last 34 years together. Moving to Casper in 1990 he spent most of his time cooking for friends at the Kopper Kettle and other establishments around town. He loved cooking for people and making his famous green chili. He also liked building model cars and loved admiring his car collection, just as much as he loved his Budweiser, the Broncos and watching wrestling. Above all else he loved his family with all his heart, no question about that. Ask anyone. The people closest to him spent a lot of time laughing with him and also at him at times. He was definitely a pain, but he was our pain and we loved him with all of our hearts. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Gallego; a son, Donny Smith, and his wife, Regine Lucas Smith; a daughter, Jennifer Gallegos; his grandchildren, Christian Smith, Haylee Smith, and Alexander Smith; LBG.BC and his big dog and two little puppies; 8 sisters; 1 brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his mother and father, his granddaughter, Brooklynd Gallegos, and a brother and sister. A private service is being held for his family.
