CASPER - Funeral services for long time Casper resident John Bennett Einer 78, will be conducted Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 10:00AM at the First Presbyterian Church by Pastor Frank Kinney. Interment will follow at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. Military Honors accorded by, The Natrona County Veteran's Council and The Wyoming Army National Guard. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm today, May 29, at Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory. He died May 25, 2013 at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living, where he had been a resident for two months. John was born in Thermopolis, Wyoming on June 8, 1934 to Paul and Margaret (Shafer) Einer. He graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 1952 and then attended the University of Wyoming from 1952 to 1954 majoring in accounting. On August 6, 1955 he married Bertha Marie Olsen at the Presbyterian Church in Kiowa, Colorado. Bertha passed away on August 22, 2004. In August 1955 they moved to Casper and John began his long term employment with Ohio Oil Company (now Marathon Oil Company) until he was called up for military service in January 1957. He served at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX until his honorable discharge in December 1958. He then returned to his previous employment at Ohio Oil Company. John had a long career at Marathon Oil starting out in the Accounting Department, promoted to Casper District Accounting Supervisor, then various accounting positions and then being promoted to the Division Office Services Supervisor in July 1982 where he worked until retirement on June 30, 1986. His interests included building and repairing whatever was broken or needed to be fixed and spending time at the lake or traveling, which included time with his children and grand children at the lake. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Casper, Wyoming and the Casper Water Ski Club where he served as past president and board member. Survivors include his two sons and their wives, Rodney (Meg) of Tulsa, OK, Gary (Linda) of Casper, WY; four grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsey), Stephanie, Lindsay and Abby; one great grandchild (Marty); a sister, Charlotte Gourley of Thermopolis, WY; and his beloved dog, Boe. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 804 South Wolcott, Casper, Wyoming 82601.
