A memorial service for Jack Dahlstrom, 88, will take place Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Sell officiating. It is requested of those who attend to wear bright colors in honor of Jack's life. Jack was born to Frank and Jenny Dahlstrom at Reed City, Michigan on June 5, 1925. After graduating from Reed City High School, he enlisted in the Navy. He was assigned to duty on LST 952. He served as an Electricians Mate 1 st Class, in charge of the engine room. He saw action in the Philippines, Okinawa, Guam, and other S. Pacific battles. Jack met and married Esther West of Le Roy, Michigan. Together they moved to Hayward, California and graduated from Western Baptist Bible College. They became members of a Hiawatha Baptist Missions later becoming Continental Baptist Missions and moved to northern Wisconsin. They were instrumental in establishing two churches before Jack's poor health caused them to move from Wisconsin to Arizona then to Denver where he employed by Martin Marietta, which transferred him to Wichita, Kansas, working on the Titan 2 missile program. After being laid off the family moved back to Denver where they remained for more than forty years. Jack and his son Dave were self-employed as paint contractors until 1985. Jack and Esther became house inspectors for foreclosed properties, travelling all over the state as ordered by banks and mortgage companies until 1995. Working as an apartment manager until moving to Avon, South Dakota in 2003. There they helped with a mission church on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. He had a passion for family, friends, and church and was loved by all who knew him. He was an avid fisherman, all around outdoorsman. He supplied the family with fresh vegetables from his garden. Jack and Esther retired in 2005 and moved to Casper, Wyoming, to reside with daughter, Ruth Newquist. Survivors include his wife Esther of 64 years of Casper, his younger brother, David Dahlstrom of Reed, City, four children Ruth Newquist of Casper, David and Debbie of Denver, and Becky Wilson of Elk River, Minnesota, 9 grand children and 13 great grand children. His sister Margaret Van Antwerp, brother Stanlf, and his parents Frank and Jenny Dahlstrom preceded Jack in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds may be directed to Mike and Sharon Keller of Baptist Mid Missions for Campus Bible Fellowship. Addressed to Liberty Baptist Church 1203 S.
