Joann Wilson-Pfeiffer

Joann Stout Wilson Pfeiffer, 90, of Mills, WY passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions after a long stay there. Joann Stout was born June 20, 1923 in Oakland, CA, to Herbert A. Stout and Alice Nickerson Stout. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Arizona, she taught school in Arizona and worked many years as a newspaper correspondent for newspapers in California and Arizona. Joann is survived by her husband and companion of more than 40 years, Donald E. Pfeiffer, a step daughter, Jeanette Fowlkes, ten step grandchildren and by longtime friends Aaron and Mary Remington. Joann and Don have lived the past 15 years in Wyoming, at Thermopolis, Cody, Worland, and Casper She was preceded by her parents and by a brother, Howard, who died before she was born. A Memorial service will be at 6:00 PM, Monday, June 23, 2013 at Boyd Avenue Baptist Church, with Pastor Quin Williams officiating. Local arrangements have been made by Bustard's Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland, CA.
