JoAnn Baden

A funeral service for JoAnn Marie Baden, 86, will be held at 10 a.m. June 11, 2013 at Mount Hope Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ron Garwood officiating. Burial will be held at Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery. JoAnn Baden died June 4, 2013 at her home in Casper. She was born June 15, 1926, in Independence, Kansas to Glenn and Bertha (Olson) Ellis. She was raised and educated in Independence Kansas. On January 24, 1947, she married Robert A. Baden in Independence Kansas, and after a few moves they settled down in Casper in 1959. A charter member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church, Mrs. Baden enjoyed volunteer work for the church and its service organizations, having served as church secretary for 25 years along with numerous offices both local and national. She will be remembered for her love of God and her family, her artistic and literary skills, and her enjoyment of subtle yet profound humor. Survivors include her husband of 66 years; her son Michael (Pamela) Baden of Casper; four grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jim Ellis, and her son, Thomas.
