Jimmie Edward Stevens, 89 of Casper, passed on October 1st, 2024. Jimmie was born on January 6th, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, to Harry and Beulah Stevens. He left high school early to enlist in the Navy from 1953-1957. He served in the Korean War on the USS Wasp. Honorably, Jimmie received an Ambassador for Peace Medal from the Consul General of the Republic of Korea.
He and his beloved bride, Janet, married within two weeks of meeting, and were happily married for 48 years. There was never a day that Jimmie wasn’t taking care of his three daughters, Pamela, Julie, and Cathy, and his four grandchildren, Malie, Dallen, Allison, and Isabella.
After his time in the service, Jimmie worked in Southern California at Coast Wholesale Electric for over 20 years. Following Jimmie and Jan’s marriage, in 1977, the family moved to Casper, Wyoming, to work at Crum and Crescent Electric for an additional 25 years.
Jimmie was an avid woodworker, dog lover, and angler. He spent numerous years attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and watching the Andy Griffith Show. He knew every word from every episode. Jimmie also watched countless hours of football and could tell you each player's stats by heart.
His survivors will miss him deeply, but are comforted in knowing he is in Heaven with his family and past dogs. At his request, there will not be a service. Please send flowers to his beautiful wife through the Bustards Flower Store.
