Jimmie Don (Jim) Mortenson, 72, passed away November 16, 2014 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born March 30, 1942, in Logan, Utah. Jim married the love of his life, Dee Ann Lewis Mortenson, on June 5, 1964. They began their family in Preston, ID, settling in the Casper/Glenrock area in 1977. Jim spent the remainder of his life working in the oil field, construction and mining industries in the state of Wyoming- finally "retiring" from Menards in Casper. Jim's sole purpose for living was to love and care for his family, and giving to and helping anyone in need. Jim is survived by his wife, Dee; sons Bob (Tawnya) and Tyler (Robin) Mortenson and five beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Jerry (Conna) Mortenson, Glen (Joyce) Harris, Terry (Janna) Mortenson, and Van (Gala) Harris. Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 21 at 11 am at the LDS Church in Glenrock, WY, followed by fellowship and luncheon. Procession will follow to Casper Veteran's Memorial Cemetery for 2 pm burial. Jim's family requests donations in Jim's honor be sent to "Natrona County United Veteran's Council", PO Box 735 Evansville, WY 82636.
