Jerry Clark

Lt. Jerry Clark was called to duty by our good Lord and Savior, February 13, 2016. He spent his last moments where he longed to be; home with the love of his life Margaret Clark. Jerry Clark was born on January 17, 1951, to Betty Jean Tackett-Clark in Canyon City Oregon. Jerry was the oldest of seven, they are: Russell Clark of Casper, Vivian Hurt of Casper, Betty Lee Cummings (deceased), Randy and wife Ellen Clark of Texas, Jeff and wife Joy Clark of Casper, and Phyllis Barris (deceased). Jerry grew up with one child in his arms, and one walking beside him at all times. And he couldn't have been any happier, he loved them all dearly. Jerry's happiest moment was meeting Margaret Goode-Clark, Labor Day weekend of 1971. They truly lived happily ever after, for a period of 44 years. Jerry and Maggie never had even an argument, as they absolutely cherished each moment with one another. Jerry studied Criminal justice at Casper College. He continued his education at the University of Missouri, while working for the St. Louis Department of Corrections. Jerry and Maggie were blessed with two daughters, Erin and Cody. In 1980 Jerry and Maggie moved back to Casper, as they longed to raise their children in God's country. Jerry had a 28 year career, with the Natrona County Sherriff's department. Lt. Clark was very passionate about helping others, as he always saw the good in people. While overseeing the Natrona County Detention Center, Lt. Clark initiated the G.E.D. program, and the Natrona County Sherriff's Office Chaplain's program. He was also a monumental supporter of the A.A. and N.A. programs, amongst countless others. Annually he enjoyed helping children, through shop with a cop. Helping others was his greatest career accomplishment. Jerry absolutely loved his family, and was happiest when surrounded by them. He coached their sports activities and taught children's church at Sonlight Ministries for more than ten years. Jeremy and Cody provided them two grandchildren; Jonathan and Aliya Nicely. He spent every moment he could taking his grandchildren on vacations in Florida, fishing and camping in the Bighorn's, and fulfilling any other request they dreamed up. He was very proud of them both, and always went to great lengths to show them his love. Jerry never missed a Denver Broncos game; Super Bowl 50 brought him joy. Jerry touched many lives, and will be missed by all. A memorial service for Jerry Clark will be held on Thursday Feb. 18, 2016 at 2:00pm at Highland Park Community Church. Memorial donations may be sent to Joshua's Store House or the Children's Miracle Network. Another way to keep Jerry's legacy alive is to donate blood in memory of Jerry.
