Jerry A. McCormick, 42, of Casper Wyoming passed away after a car accident on May 2, 2015. The first of two sons, Jerry was born October 14, 1972 in Ogallala, Nebraska to Ronald O. and Dorothy L. (Gallington) McCormick. The family moved to Wheatland, Wyoming in 1983 where Jerry attended school, graduating in 1993. Jerry moved to Casper, Wyoming after high school, where he worked as a mechanic, and attended college courses, earning a certificate in Renewable Energy. At the time of his death he was employed at Anchor Environmental. He married JoDean (Andrew) McCormick in 1996. He and Michelle (Bowden) McCormick were married in 2008. Jerry had many interests and hobbies. As a child his Dad and Mom took him and his brother hunting, fishing, and camping, and Jerry became an avid outdoorsman. He later shared his love of the outdoors with his own children, and would take them with him whenever possible. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and recently developed an interest in cooking and grilling for them on his new Traeger grill. Jerry is survived by his wife, Michelle; children Anna, Falon, Shawn, and Connor McCormick and Trevor Tyree, all of Casper; and Taylor Slattery of Gillette; his Mother Dorothy McCormick of Wheatland; his brother Jeffrey (Shannon) McCormick and nephew James McCormick all of Big Piney, Wyoming. He is also survived by his numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his father Ronald McCormick; paternal grandparents James and Lucille McCormick, maternal grandmother Frances Gallington, and his brother-in-law Michael Bowden. Jerry is being remembered at a Celebration of Life at the VFW (1800 Bryan Stock Trail) in Casper, Wyoming on Saturday May 9th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to Jerry McCormick's account on gofundme.com.
