As he bid his friends "Bon Jour", the great Corral in the Sky opened up its pearly gates and welcomed Jeffrey Allen Holcomb (Jeff), Friday, June 13. Born May 19, 1953 he was 61 years of age at the time of his passing. Jeff, a proud Wyomingite, succumbed to illness and injuries acquired from a lifetime of a very active lifestyle. His final days were spent in Casper's Central Wyoming Hospice program. Jeff loved horses, which he spent many fearless hours breaking and riding in the Gillette area. He worked with many of the Gillette ranchers riding broncs as well as dusting himself off from time to time. After also working around the oil rigs and fields of Gillette, Jeff turned to truck driving and traveled the country hauling a variety of livestock and freight. Jeff also was also very capable operating just about any piece of heavy construction equipment there was. Jeff was full of love for his family and friends, his Malamute Huskies and all animals, large and small. Jeff was a trusted and loyal son, brother, uncle, husband and friend. He is survived by his mother, Bernice Hampton of Gillette, and his wife Carol Nemetz Holcomb, of Casper, brothers Mike Holcomb and wife Devi, of Gillette, Scott Holcomb and wife Charlene, of Fort Collins Colorado, and Leslie W. (Chip) Holcomb III, of Fort Collins, sister Laurie Schilling and husband Bruce of Gillette. Also mourning Jeff's passing are numerous nieces, nephews, as well as a great number of friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Leslie W. Holcomb Jr., his stepfather Roy G. Hampton and his sister Kelly Holcomb Ayres. At his request, there will be no services and he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Central Wyoming Hospice program in Casper, Casper's Humane Society, Kelly's Kids (in care of The Casper Rotary Foundation), or the charity of the givers choice.
