Jeffrey Wayne Lord, 62, passed away at his home on October 3, 2015. Jeff was born September 10, 1953, to Leo Lord and Hazel Winning in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He attended Regional Vocational Technical Institute in Andover, Massachusetts, and joined the Navy when he was 17. Jeff moved to Casper, Wyoming, in the mid-70's, where he had fallen in love with the beauty and openness of the state and the endless hunting opportunities. These hunting opportunities provided many, many good stories which friends and family continue to share. Jeff began his career in law enforcement with the Evansville Police Department. He later left the Evansville Police Department and on September 5, 1978, Jeff joined the Casper Police Department. He received the Officer in Blue Award in June 1980. He made detective in September 1981 and retired from that position on September 7, 1998. Jeff and his wife, Mary, were married in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on November 23, 1993. Jeff thoroughly loved the New England Patriots and would always remind others how well they have done, as well as the Boston Red Sox. He loved the family trailer at Alcova Lake, where there were many a canyon cruise, Sandy Beach and visiting with friends on their decks. Jeff enjoyed hunting, a good movie with a big bag of popcorn, and spending time with family. Jeff is survived by his wife, Mary Fanning Lord; sons Mike, Danny (Natalie), and Jimmy, and daughter Amanda, all of Casper; and his three sisters Sharon (Rich) Bell of Casper, Sandy (Tom) Mignanelli of Methuen, Massachusetts, and Jeannette Gillham of Casper; two beautiful grandchildren, Kyra and Carter; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad. Memorial services will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Lucas Simango officiating.
