Jean Rogers

June 23, 1925 — September 14, 2017

Jean Rogers was born June 23, 1925 to Billy and Connie (Ellis) Boles in Casper, WY. She was born in the Casper Private Hospital owned by Dr. Lathrop where both of her parents were employed. The family lived on Jackson Street and Jean graduated from Natrona County High School in 1943. She attended the University of Wyoming where she met and married Ted Rogers on October 10, 1945. Upon graduating in 1947 the couple moved to Hanna, WY where Jean taught second grade and Ted coached athletics including High School boys basketball. After Ted served in the Korean War the couple moved to Casper, WY where Jean was the director of the Grace Lutheran Preschool and was also employed by the Natrona County School District as an elementary teacher , substitute teacher and special education aid when she retired in 1985. She served the community of Casper as a member of the Natrona County Zoning Board, Fort Caspar Museum Board, and for over 30 years was a member of the Wyoming Medical Center Auxiliary serving over 10,000 hours in many positions. She also was a member of the Wyoming Pioneer Association and Snow Gypsie snowmobile club. Jean was a loving mother to Ted Rogers (Ellen), Mike Rogers (Cindy), Geri Proctor (Bill), grandmother to Grant Rogers, Lindsie Rogers, Miles Proctor, and Meghan Proctor, and very proud to become a great grandmother to Reed Carl. Memorial donations may be made in Jean's name to the Casper Humane Society, 849 East E Street, Casper, Wyoming.
