Jean Green

On May 1, 2019 Jean Marie Green, a loving wife and mother of four, passed away at the young age of 65 years. Jean was born in Poplar, MT on April 17, 1954 to Roland and Hazel Rettig. She has two loving sisters, Linda Alger and Pat Rickett. She attended Widefield High School in Colorado Springs, CO but moved during her senior year and graduated from Billy Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, CO. She met her loving husband, Dennis T. Green, and they were married in Colorado Springs, CO on October 12, 1974. They had four loving children; daughters, Janelle and Susan Green, and sons, Daniel and Jonathan Green. She loved her family with all of her heart. She was working at Peach's restaurant in Mills, WY when she tragically injured her back. That did not slow her down. She then went to Casper College and graduated with two associate degrees and became a medical transcriptionist at Wyoming Medical Center where she worked for 8 years until she was forced to quit. Jean had a tragic life-changing brain injury several years later that would have slowed down anyone, but not her. She survived several brain surgeries and then rehabilitation at Elkhorn Hospital. She always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face. Jean enjoyed camping and stream fishing with her family. In later years she enjoyed paint-by-numbers and jigsaw puzzles on her iPad. She also enjoyed collecting baseball and football cards. Most of all she enjoyed her husband of almost 45 years and her children and grandchildren. She was expecting several great grandchildren at the time of her passing. She will be greatly missed. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Hazel Rettig, and her sister, Linda Alger. She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis, and her children, Janelle, Susan, Daniel, and Johnathan Green. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and soon-to-be great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters-in-law, and her sister, Pat Rickett. Jean's viewing will be May 7, 2019 at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper, WY from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Her funeral will be May 8, 2019 at 1:30 pm at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, WY.
