Today, we mourn the loss and celebrate the life of Janice Kay Todd, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Those who knew Jan knew she had a fiery spirit, an innate toughness, and an immeasurable ability to love. As her boys will attest, she also had an enduring love of eighties rock music, an uncanny knack at solving Family Feud surveys, and she knew every word of "Dirty Dancing." What may surprise some to learn is that Janice was an accomplished martial artist, having earned her black belt in the 5-Way Method. While her university education culminated with a Bachelor's Degree from UW, her true passion was in helping to educate others about autism awareness. She was fortunate enough to meet her idol, Temple Grandin, which was huge to her. Janice was so loved and will missed beyond measure by those who survive her, including her husband Steve, her boys Ryan and Matthew Smith, her parents Mel and Lula Vang, her brother Gary Vang, her hermanita Susan NeVille, and her treasured beagle, Brewster.
