Janet Jozwik

March 31, 1939 — August 16, 2014

Janet Jozwik, 75, died on August 16, 2014, following a full life and a three year battle with lung cancer. Born on March 31, 1939 to Edith and Walter Sanger, Janet spent her childhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following a whirlwind courtship with the "best looking man she had ever seen"; she married Paul Jozwik at the Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Philadelphia on December 26,1959. In 1962, Paul and Janet moved to Casper and, over the ensuing 51 years, she raised a family of 12 children, helped her husband and brother-in -law establish/expand Johnny Appleseed Greenhouses and was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. In life, Janet was selflessly devoted to God, her husband and her family. She made it through the long Wyoming winters and short Wyoming summers with determination, cleverly disguised stubbornness, a ready sense of humor, occasional trips to warmer climates, (she especially enjoyed trips to the New Jersey shore- -the site of her childhood vacations) and the help of hot tea with lots of sugar and caffeine-free Diet Pepsi. Janet firmly believed that God never sends you more than you can handle. She met each of life's challenges in the full spirit of Mary, our Lord's Mother: Luke 1:38 "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word!' She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Walter Sanger; her sisters, Margaret Sautter and Edith White; two children, Paul and Michael; and one grandchild, John Paul Gillette. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Paul; ten children, Dwayne of Casper, Catherine (William) Jozwik- Gillette of Harper's Ferry, WV, Darryl (RoxAnne) of Gillette, Valerie (Darin) Hill of Ridgway, CO, Christine (Richard) Harris of Glenrock, Charles (Cynthia) of Casper, Heather (Brian) Jones of Sierra Vista, AZ, Jennifer of Casper, Andrew (Michele) of Casper and Raymond (Beth) of Casper; 23 grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial for Janet will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21st at St. Anthony's Catholic Church (604 S. Center St., Casper, WY). Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 3 p.m., immediately preceding the funeral service, on Thursday, Aug. 21st, at Bustard's Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to Bustard's Funeral Home (bustardsfuneralhome.com); memorial donations made to Catholic Relief Services (crs.org) would be greatly appreciated.
