A Celebration of Life for James Steven Turner will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Restoration Church, 411 So. Walsh Drive, Casper, Wyoming. Jim was born November 11, 1956 in Casper, Wyoming to Marilyn J. and Odell L. Turner, the youngest of three boys. He lived in Casper for 13 years until he and his family moved to Baton Rouge, LA. In Louisiana Jim graduated from high school and started attending South East Louisiana State College. He then moved to Los Angeles, CA and continued his education at El Camino College. It was there that Jim enrolled in the welding class that launched his welding career. In 1979 he married Karen Walpuski. After 13 years in Los Angeles, Jim moved back to his hometown, Casper. In Casper he was close to family and developed a great network of friends. Jim had a good heart and a laid back personality that led him to be known as Casual Jim. In true Wyoming spirit, he loved the outdoors, spending his free time fishing, boating, camping and hunting, either alone or with friends, but always with his faithful dog, Yellar. Jim Turner was a super friend, a supporting and loving son, a fantastic brother, and a dog's best friend. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Odell L. Turner. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn J. Turner of Casper and his two brothers, Bob Turner of Casper and Larry Turner of Fort Collins, CO.
