Services for James E. Sarvey, 71, will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Glenrock, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Bustard's Funeral Home and from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM, Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Church. Interment will be at Glenrock Cemetery, Glenrock, Wyoming. James Edward Sarvey (Jim) passed away at Wyoming Medical Center on December 6, 2012 after a short illness. Jim was born July 6, 1941 in Casper, Wyoming to Edward Otis Sarvey and Margaret Wyatt He married Julia Gardner on June 1, 1963 in the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Together they had five children: Natalie, Sally, Thomas, Joel & James. Jim grew up in Glenrock where he was active in sports and school activities. He was proud to have played on the 1958 state championship football team, which they won. Jim loved to hunt in the mountains and fish the streams of Wyoming. Jim graduated from Glenrock High School and the University of Wyoming. He was always a loyal Wyoming Cowboy fan. Upon graduation from UW, Jim went to work for Husky Oil in Cody. From Cody he went to work for Pacific Power starting in Glenrock, at the Dave Johnson Power Plant and then Glenrock Coal. In 1978 he transferred to Portland, Oregon to the Pacific Power Corporate offices for one year. He then returned to Wyoming, working first in Sheridan for Spring Creek Coal and Gillette for Western Fuels. After retirement, in 2005, Jim and Julie returned to Glenrock to the family home. In retirement, he spent his time hunting, fishing, watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events and cheering on the Cowboys. In 1991, Jim & Julie suffered the greatest sorrow of their life with the passing of their daughter Natalie. Jim was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as the Branch President of the Glenrock Branch and Bishop of the Sheridan 2nd Ward. He has taught the Gospel Doctrine class for the last seven years in the Glenrock Ward. He was preceded in death by his daughter Natalie Wadsworth and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Julia, brother Michael (Sally) Sarvey, children Darryl & Jodi Wadsworth (Natalie) Sally (Brooke) Downs, Thomas (Karma) Sarvey, Joel (Crystal) Sarvey, James (Melinda) Sarvey and 28 grandchildren.
