Jim Quintana, 90 of Casper, passed away in his home on February 13, 2018. Jim was born on August 21, 1927 in Casper, Wyoming. He was raised in Colorado and California. In 1949 he returned to Casper. In April of 1951 he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He served in the Korean war and was honorably discharged in January 1954. He married the love of his life, Grace Mora on February 27, 1954. Jim was a very proud father of 2 children, Jerry (Lori)Quintana and Gloria LaVancha. Jim worked for Mountain Bell for 30 years. He was a devoted working man with a lot of energy and he loved meeting new people from all walks of life. Even after he retired in 1985 he worked part-time at Volume Services at the Casper Event Center for the next 10 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved animals and always had a dog by his side. Jim was a child at heart who loved making people smile. His brothers and sisters remember him as the one who would keep them laughing and entertained when times were hard. His children and grandchildren remember him as the one who would play music, sing and dance and work on his garden in the summer. He created so much in his life and brought so much joy to the people in his life. He will be greatly missed. He enjoyed nothing more than his cherished time with his family which grew to include 4 granddaughters, Gina (Gary) Colaw, Lisa Quintana, Crystal Simpson and Monica Patro; 2 grandsons, Julio Trout and Jacob Trout as well as 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is survived by 5 sisters, Dolly Sandoval, Terry Paromone, Rebecca Ledford, Dorothy (Bob) Bridges and Virginia Hanson. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Grace, his parents, 6 brothers, Roman, Marty, George and Rocky Sandoval, Teto Quintana and Benny Sanistevan. Also 1 sister, Helen Kay Wild. A memorial service for Jim will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper with Fr. Hugo L. Blotsky, O.S.B. of St. Anthony's Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim's honor to the Casper Humane Society or Central Wyoming Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
