James W. McIntosh, age 92, passed away on Monday, April 10th, 2017 in Casper, Wyoming. Jim was born May 1st, 1924 in Logan County, Kansas to Clinton R. and Lena (Mastin) McIntosh. Jim moved to Wyoming in 1950 working as a driller in the booming oil industry before finding his passion for construction and setting roots in Casper, WY. J.W. McIntosh Construction was one of the longest operating dirt contractors in Wyoming and proudly served the entire state for 46 years. Jim loved telling stories and his construction projects were often at the center. Prior to his retirement at the age of 81, Jim was thrilled and would often reminisce about his construction of all the roads and oil locations into the Red Desert, the Paradise Valley swimming pool, Wyoming Medical Center, Central Wyoming Hospice, the Casper Recreation Center, and many more. Along with his many accomplishments, Jim enthusiastically spoke of his world travels and his membership in the Masonic Temple and the Korein Shrine. Jim is dearly loved and leaves behind his Wife Darlyn (Decker) McIntosh; four stepchildren - Jan Stoorza (Larry), Ryan Decker Rasner, Reid Kronberg-Rasner (Josh), and Darbi Westman (Andy); two grandchildren Damion and Mason Westman; Father-in-law Darrell Decker; and a Sister-in-law Debbie Decker. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and Mother-in-law Billie Jean Decker. We will remember Jim as a hard working and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. The McIntosh family would like to thank the loving staff of Central Wyoming Hospice for their care and attentiveness. Per Jim's final request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jim's name to the Shriners Hospital for Children and Central Wyoming Hospice.
