James Copen

James Dixon Copen, 87, passed away in Casper, Wyoming on June 17, 2012. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Oregon Trail Veterans Cememtery, Military Honors will be accorded by Natrona County United Veterans Council and F. E. Warren AFB Honor Guard. James was born January 18, 1925 in Huntington, WV. He married Clarice "Lolly" Copen on June 20, 1946 in Pomeroy, OH. He worked as a geologist. He also belonged to AAPG, WGA, Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, Casper Air Modelers, and Casper Petroleum Club. James interests included being avid model builder, the piano and barbershop quartet. James is survived by his wife, Clarice "Lolly" Copen, of Casper; daughter, Jennifer Duncan, of Casper; sons, Robert Copen, of Riverton, James Copen, Jr., of Bainbridge, WA; granddaughters, Robin Lynette Copen, of Denver, Reanna April Mesa, of Laramie, WY, Ashley Maree Copen, of Seattle, WA, Joyanne Pearl (Duncan) Knight, of Denver, Regina Leigh Duncan, of Laramie, WY, Amanda Nichole Duncan of Denver; grandsons, David Leonard Cieslar, of Riverton, WY, Samson Lee Jones, of Helena,MT, Jason Christopher Copen, Tumwater, WA, Matthew James Conrad of Casper, WY, Nicholas Alexander of Woolman of Valparaiso, IN and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Etzel and Hattie Eloise Copen of Huntington, WV; son, Frederick Copen of Casper; brother, Clarence Etzel Copen, Jr., of Huntington, WV and grandson, Jeremy Roy Conrad of Casper.
