James Burl "Burley" Ford Services for James Burl "Burley" Ford, 50, will be held on Thursday December 5, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2300 E 15th Street, Casper, WY. Officiating his service will be Pastor Mike Struck with the eulogy given by his aunts, Margaret Herren of Great Bend Kansas, and Rev. Mary Campbell of Casper. Burial will take place in Memorial Gardens on Friday at 11:00 A.M. Burl went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2013 after a courageous battle with throat cancer. He was surrounded by loving family and friends. Burl was born on May 31, 1963 in Casper, Wyoming, to Burl and Thea Ford. Burl was a gymnast with Ka-Lark's Studios from 1966 to 1981. He also played little league baseball and football. He graduated in 1981 from Kelly Walsh High School, where he was in the band, Kelly Walsh Dancers, a member of the gymnastic team, and was a competitive diver on the swim team. Burl owned and operated Clogbusters Sewer Service in Casper. He also worked for Burl's Reeves Plumbing as a Journeyman Plumber. His passion was playing drums, and he played in numerous bands over the years. In addition to his drums, Burl loved fishing, jet skiing, arrowhead hunting and camping. During his life, Burl ministered to numerous friends about the love and saving grace of his Lord, Jesus Christ. Many lives were changed because of his faith and showing love to those in need, including opening his home. He also risked his own life in an attempt to save the live of others. Burl cherished his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Burl and Thea Ford, his sisters Lisa Hildebrand (Pat), Susie Ford, Judy Ford, and Jackie Chimpky (Don), his children Robby Metzger, Steven Fischer, and Tayler (Ford) Cobb, and a special baby Anais. He also had several numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James Burl Ford Memorial Fund, Hilltop National Bank, Casper. The drums did resound, The angels did sing. They welcomed him home, A child of the King.
