Jim R. Birkle, 64, of Evansville, died Thursday, October 20, 2016, of a sudden heart attack, while doing what he loved; hunting, near Midwest. Jim R. Birkle was born December 11, 1951, in Sandpoint, Idaho. He graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1971. He worked as a laborer for Joe Humphery House Moving until 1984, Coleman and Son as welder and then moved on to Lathrop Equipment as a farm and ranch equipment mechanic. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Humphrey, at First Assembly of God Church, on July 31, 1972. Jim enjoyed annual hunting trips with his family, teaching his children and grandchildren to hunt and fish and playing bingo. He especially loved family events and spending time with loved ones. He spent hours in the garage, working on his pickup, along with others vehicles. Not only did Jim take the time to teach his own children to hunt, fish, and mechanic but also had the time to teach others as well as be a mentor and role model. Jim is preceded in death by: his father, Victor Birkle, his sister, Vikki Glass, his grandson, Jackson W. Kellch, two nephews and one niece, his Mother and Father-In-law, Joe and Wilda Humphrey and numerous other family members. Jim is survived by: his wife of 44 years of marriage, Kathy (Humphrey) Birkle, his mother, Irene (Weber) Birkle, his brother, Dale Birkle and sister-in-law Betty Birkle, his brother, Ron Birkle, his sister, Terry Boyle, his son, Jim (Jimmy) Birkle, his daughter, Kelly (Birkle) Bohnet and his son-in-law, Bruce Bohnet, his daughter, Alicia (Birkle) Kellch, his beloved grandchildren, Austin Birkle, Kaitlyn Birkle, Brandyn Bohnet, Kassidee Bohnet, Jessika Bohnet, Jarrett Kellch, Aspen Kellch, Judd Kellch and numerous other family member. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 from 5-8pm at Bustard's Funeral Home. Services will be held at Bustard's Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11am with Tracy Sutherland officiating. Interment to follow at Wyoming Memorial Gardens and a reception to follow at the Evansville Community Center. Memorials can be made to Rocky Mountain Oncology or a memorial of your choosing, in the name of Jim R. Birkle.
