Ivory Earl Lindsey, age 69, passed away on July 10, 2023 in Casper, Wyoming. He was born October 9, 1953 in Hollandale MS. He was born to his mother Augusta Lindsey and she later married Willie F. Young Sr., and they both raised Ivory. He attended Casper local schools and he worked for Coliseum Motors, Doyle Johnson and Fremont Motors as a certified mechanic. He was the bus driver for local Casper Troopers for many years. Ivory was a member at Christ First Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the True Gospel Singers men chorus and he also sang in the church choir. He also attended Word Christian Fellowship Church and loved playing his guitar with them. He also loved playing his guitar in a solo act performance in the local Black History Talent Show. He enjoyed driving and collecting collectible cars, riding his motorcycle, and being an artist. He had many accomplishments throughout his life, none more important than his two sons, Ezra Earl Wallace and Kazell Maurice Wallace, and his grandson, Isaiah Wallace who he raised. He loved his loving family. He loved fashion and cooking and having family and friends over to his house. One of his favorite songs was “I’ve been in the storm too long by The Mighty Clouds of Joy”. We will miss his words of wisdom and his amazing smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie F. Young Sr. and Augusta Young, brothers Larry Lindsey Sr. and Barry Dane Lindsey, sisters, Bessie Mae Cochran and Totsetta Young.
He leaves behind his sons, Ezra Earl Wallace, Kazell Maurice Wallace, his grandson he raised, Isaiah Wallace; all of Casper, Wyoming, brother, Everett Young (Delores) of CA, and Willie F. Young Jr, of Casper, Wyoming, sisters, Senthan Young-Bennett (Danny) of Las Vegas, NV, Mavis Young (Kevin) of Anacortes, WA, Vivian (Arturo) Renova and Shara Larry, of Casper, Wyoming, 15 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 2:00pm, at Rock of Ages, 956 North Poplar Street in Casper, Wyoming. A reception will follow immediately after services at the North Casper Clubhouse located at 1032 S. L. St. Casper, Wyoming 82601.
