Ione Gottfried

Ione C. Gottfried, longtime Casper resident, died peacefully June 30, 2013 at Life Care Center in Casper. She lived 91 years. Ione was born January 13, 1922 in Atkinson, Nebraska, the daughter of Mable and Oscar Younglund. She graduated from NCHS in 1939. Ione began her career at the Employment Security Commission and retired in 1988 after 27 years of service. Her passion was bowling and she was an avid bowler all her life. Ione is survived by her sons, Bob Wiley and wife Sharon, Bill Marvel and wife Linda, and Rick Marvel, her daughter, Jeanne Garris and husband Danny, daughter-in-law, Christine Wiley, 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Mike Wiley and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, July 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Faith Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Fitzsimmons officiating. Viewing will be at the church after the service. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
