Imo Jean Channell passed away Oct 16 after a massive stroke. She was 83, born in Midridge, Missouri on Aug 14, 1934, the oldest of Tony Woolf's 6 children. Her mother, Sybile, died when Jean was 6 years old. While on her Senior trip to Nashville she met Greg Montgomery. They married, moved to Denver, and had 4 children. The family relocated to Wheatland, Wy where she went to work at Platte County Memorial Hospital. She loved the medical field and went to the University of Laramie to become an RN. She left with her LPN degree. After Jean and Greg divorced she moved back to Missouri to work at Ozark Lead Mine with her brother, Kenny. There she met Ron Channel' whom she married and they moved to Casper to be close to the kids. Kenny also came with them. They all went to work underground in the uranium mines until they closed. Jean was the "Mucker". She and Ron then became cross country truck drivers. Jean loved life on the road, going new places, & seeing all 48 states. After retirement her mornings started with strong black coffee, Star Tribune crossword puzzle, and a view of Casper Mountain. She was a great cook, loved to feed everyone and was very proud that she was the head of 5 generations. Granny Jean will be missed by many. Jean has donated her body to science, requests no services, and wanted all flowers to be given to her while she was alive. She is survived by her husband Ron, children - Terria Glasspoole, Mark Montgomery, & Kelijo Musgrave, 6 grandchildren- Michelle Nighswonger, Richard Cozad, Shonya Neuman, Joshua Glasspoole, Jeremiah Glasspoole, Nicholas Montgomery, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sisters Wanda Chitwood, Marsha Townsend, Aunt Jen, Aunt Glenna, and many nieces and nephews. Proceeding her in death are Jean's parents, brother Kenny Woolf, sisters Donna Travis, Cricket Morissey and her daughter Sherry McCarty whom she's missed for 37 years.
