Hugh Joseph Bryan Born December 31st, 1928 Died March 27th, 2020

Hugh Joseph Bryan was born on December 31st, 1928 in Casper Wyoming to parents Hugh S. and Amy E. Bryan. The first of six children and the only boy Hugh took on responsibility early in life. He developed a beautiful nurturing character that would always be his gift to others. Growing up through the tail end of the depression Hugh learned early the value of family and support. His family always came first and those among his family felt that warmth every day. Hugh attended Saint Anthony's and Natrona County High School and shortly after enlisted in the Navy serving as a bookkeeper on a naval vessel for two years. He returned to Casper and started a long career doing what he did best, working with people. He was truly gifted in the way he could light up a room with his infectious smile and ultimately became very well respected in our community helping others with insurance, equities and financial planning. He loved his work and didn’t retire until he was 80 years old! In 1953 Hugh married the love of his life Joyce Lee Darnell. Joyce was new to Casper when they found each other and started a lifelong journey together. By the early sixties they had five children together. As a father Hugh gave his children endless love, strong values and respect. Hugh had a sense of humor that filled every conversation. He loved to laugh and add levity to everyone's day. His best of friends called him “Hughie” encapsulating the casual and warm nature of his persona. Hugh was a passionate golfer and was blessed to be able to golf well into his eighties. Hugh loved to garden and was a voracious reader, especially in his later years. Hugh gave his beautiful soul to God on March 27th of this year. He left on his own terms and passed away in his sleep next to his love of 66 years. Hugh was preceded in death by his oldest son James, his mother Amy and his father Hugh He is survived by his wife Joyce and his children Charlotte Lawson of Centennial Colorado, Hugh Bryan of Cheyenne Wyoming, Suzanne and Calvin Zoellner of Centennial Colorado and Gary Bryan of Casper Wyoming. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
