Huber Harold King Jr

Huber Harold (Buck) King Jr. Age 81 of Edgerton, Wyoming passed away on June 17,2024 in Casper, Wyoming.

Buck was born in Newberg, Oregon to Huber Harold King and Malinda Stihl King on June 6,1943. He attended school in Newberg and graduated in the US Navy.

Buck served In the Navy for 8 years, he did 5 tours in Viet Nam. After his discharge he spent time in the 70’s in the Salt Creek Oil Field. From there he went to Bremerton, Washington and worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Nuclear Mechanic. He retired from there after 25 years and 4 days and moved to Edgerton, Wyoming.

He served there as a Council member for two years and then the Mayer for 17 years. During that time, he was active on the Salt Creek Joint Powers Board, the Natrona County Recreation Joint Powers Board, the Wyoming Community Gas Board, The Wyoming Veterans Commission, the Regional Water Board, The Veterans Museum Board, the Airport Board and the Library Board.

He was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for over 40 years and served in many capacities including Wyoming State Commander. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Buck was a very loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He loved joking around with people and making them laugh. He was a staunch supporter of Veterans. He loved babies. He never saw a baby anywhere that he couldn’t get to laugh. He was always working to make things better for his family, his town, his state and his Country and he spent his life trying to make things better for all of them.

Buck is survived by his wife Joleen Jacobson King, his daughters Lisa Sherlock, Crystal (John) Graham and Mindy (Zack) Blackmore. His sons Kenny Verworn, Joseph (Alisha) Jacobson and Huber Harold (Jackie) King III. His Grandchildren Laura (Skyler) Tucker, Ryan Bird, Tia (Gareth) Howells, Christopher (Ally) Barber, Chance (Darci) Cook, Dakota Barber

Katrina Graham, Lyndon Graham, Huber Harold King IV, Cienna King, Gavin King, Ava Blackmore and Jayden Blackmore, his sisters Carolyn Richard and Brenda Soreque.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, wife Elva Nadine King and brother Topper King.

 There will be a Military Honors Ceremony at the Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery on June 26th at 11am. There will also be a celebration of his life on July 14th at VFW Post 9439 from 11am to 3pm.
