Henry Rodgers

Henry Neil Rodgers commended his life to our merciful God on December 15, 2017 at 6:32am at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife, Connie, and sons Robert and Patrick. Neil was born on October 7, 1945 in Great Falls, Montana, but spent the majority of his life in central Oregon, hunting, fishing, and exploring the wild spaces of the high desert. Prompted by his lifelong passion for wildlife and conservation, Neil moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1991 as a pioneer in the wildlife filmmaking industry. Neil held a special place for wild landscapes and vast expanses of wild country unique to Wyoming. His mission as a wildlife filmmaker improved awareness and understanding of environment and conservation issues across the country through television features on media such as CNN, ESPN Outdoors, and National Geographic Channel, and later, in independent films like Shoshone Wild and the television series Discover the Wild. Daily hiking and skiing jaunts on Casper Mountain - his sacred recreation site - reinvigorated Neil in body, mind, and spirit. Neil's passion for creation stemmed from his love for his Creator. He was a faithful Catholic with an incredible love for his faith and faith community, mainly at Our Lady of Fatima parish in Casper. This love of God permeated into his relationships, where the hearts of many were changed in love true to simple gospel teachings. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. A Rosary will follow the visitation. Funeral services will be at the church at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 19, 2017. Interment will follow services at Memorial Gardens.
