Helen Jindrick

July 1, 1920 — March 28, 2018

Helen K. Jindrick: 07/01/1920 - 03/28/2018 Helen Katherine (Resac) Jindrick, age 97, was finally reunited with the love her life on the early morning of March 28th, 2018 in Casper, Wyoming. Born to Frank and Agnes Resac and raised on a dairy farm in Bloom Township, Richland County, Wisconsin, Helen enjoyed picking flowers in the woods with her eldest sister, Wilma and watching over her brother, Frank, and littlest sister Marge (still living). Her two favorite childhood stories that she would share over and over again included stopping on their walk to school each morning to "take a drink of sap" from the maple trees and receiving the "highest score in the county" when graduating from 8th grade. An older boy, Adolph F. Jindrick, from a nearby farm, started to show interest in the beautiful and strong-willed Helen, and courted her by taking her dancing and to the movies. In 1944, they married in Yuba, WI, and worked on their own farm while trying to conceive for 7 years. Finally in 1951, their son, Mark was born. After only two years of doting on Mark, Adolph was diagnosed with leukemia . By 1959, Helen was a widowed, single mother with a farm to run on her own. Later, she would sell everything to buy a house in LaCrosse, WI where she raised Mark, got her GED, and worked as a supply dispenser for St. Francis hospital for years, never dating or re-marrying again. If Helen wasn't walking miles a day, she was found reading in a chair. She also loved going on outings, being around people, warm weather, and good food. By the way, her amazing Czech baking of kolache and rohliki will also be missed. Although always referred to as sweet and kind, she also could be stubborn and independent (just ask her son). She disliked the sight of blood, egotistical people, arguments, and milking cows. In 2002, Helen moved to Casper, WY to be closer to her son and his family and lived at St. Anthony's Manor. Her last few years had been spending time with her roommate, Leila, and all of the loving staff at Poplar Living Center. During her many years on Earth, though, Helen touched the lives of many. So, thank you to all of you who loved her back. Per her request, funeral services will be held in Hillsboro, WI on April 14th, 2018 at 11 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, Helen would have rather you hug your loved ones, help your neighbors, and continue to do good in the world.
