Harold Walker

April 26, 1921 — February 15, 2016

Harold Leon Walker, age 94, was born April 26, 1921, and passed away February 15, 2016. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, he was the eldest of 16 children of Ethel and Lee Walker. At the age of 16 he left his home to join the CCC, later serving as a medic in the 8th Army Air Force during WWII in England and France. Harold married Norma Lee Billington in 1941 in Salt Lake City. After the war they lived in Superior, Wyoming, where he worked as a coal miner. In 1948 Harold, Norma, and their two sons moved to Casper where he worked for Standard Oil Amoco for 33 years before retiring. He and Norma enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, often with friends. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and camper. Family reunions in Oklahoma and California were favorite events. Harold was a member of the LDS church and was sealed to his beloved Norma in 1980. He was involved in his community as a Mason, a volunteer for Big Brothers, and a frequent visitor to the Senior Citizens Center, where he played a mean game of billiards! He may best be remembered for his joyful spirit and his hearty jokes! Harold was preceded in death by his wife in 1995; also, brothers, Haskell, Wendall, Kenneth and Billy; and sisters Geneva, Juanita, Naoma, Peggy Jo, and Irma; as well as great-grandson, Challes Sandberg. "Spunky" and Jean, Bucky and Jennifer, and Karen Sue and Dallen Spendlove; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brothers, Buster, Randall, and Donald, along with sisters, Betty and Mary.Services will be Thursday, February 18, at 10 a.m. at Bustard's Funeral Home.
