Harold Moore

July 11, 1922 — March 9, 2014

Memorial services for Mr. Harold W. Moore, 91, of Casper, WY, will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Paul Kuhn officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard in a Private ceremony on Friday, March 14, 2014. Harold was born July 11, 1922, in Leoti, Kansas to Merle V. and Mildred A. (Reed) Moore. Harold graduated from South Denver High School then went on to graduate from University of Denver, School of Business. In February 1943 he enlisted in the US Army Air Corp where he served in the South Pacific until 1946 when he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. On June 8, 1947 Harold married the love of his life, Shirley A. Robeson in Denver, CO. Together they raised two sons; Ronald Moore, of Woodland Park, CO, and Robert (Dorothy) Moore of Aurora, CO as well as two daughters; Deborah (Thomas) McDaniel of Temecula, CA, and Judith (Timothy) Schenk of Casper, WY. Harold was the proud Grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild. Harold was the District Marketing Supervisor for Conoco for 29 ½ years until his retirement in 1978. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing and loved to have a Latte with Bob Pettigrew and his friends at Sunrise Coffee Café, where the girls would take special care of him. Mr. Moore passed away March 9, 2014 in Casper, WY. His passing leaves a large void in our lives. We are better people for having known and loved him. His good bye was always, "Hey, I'm glad you got to see me!" and with a smile we say one more time, "We're glad we got to see you, too." Memorial contributions to; The First Presbyterian Church; or Mended Hearts c/o Allen Quig 1241 Country Club Road, Casper, WY 82609 in Harold's honor would be appreciated. Inurnment has taken place at Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, WY. Bustard's Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
