Gordon Gerst

Services for Gordon Emil Joseph Gerst will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Weldon Treat officiating. Mr. Gerst, 82, passed away July 12, 2012 at his residence from pancreatic cancer that he had for the last six months. He was born October 10, 1929 in Sperry, Iowa. He had a Master of Education Degree. He was employed with the Natrona County School District where he worked with Pupil Services for 25 years. On June 1, 1969 he married Ila Mae Gudath in Casper, Wyoming. Mr. Gerst served in Korea in the United States Army. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was involved in Bible study and youth ministries. He enjoyed traveling to visit his children, grandchildren and other relatives. He also shared the message of the soon return of Jesus Christ by giving "Signs of the Times" magazine to those met throughout his lifetime. Survivors include his wife, Ila Mae Gerst of Casper, daughter, Gina Pellegrini and son-in-law, Anton Pellegrini, son Craig Gerst of Lacombe, Alberta, Canada, granddaughters, Alia Pellegrini and Arianna Pellegrini of Berrien Springs, MI, brothers, Albert Gerst of Chattanooga, TN, Martin Gerst of Masonville, CO, and sister, Ruth Gerst of Loveland, CO, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick, his parents, Hugo and Albertine Gerst, sister, Esther Gerst, brother, Daniel Gerst, and brother, Oscar Gerst. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the Casper Seventh-day Adventist Church in support of "Signs of the Times" magazine.
