Gloria "Billie" Smith passed peacefully on August 26, 2012, at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home. She was born August 1, 1928, the only child of William and Mary Riley. She was raised in Hagerstown, Maryland, by her mother, grandmother and two aunts. On September 27, 1947, she married Walter L. "Bud" Smith. During their 49 year marriage they made their home in Hagerstown, Rock Springs, Garden Grove and Anaheim California, Las Vegas and Rawlins. Their union produced 6 children. Several years after the death of her husband, she moved to Casper and lived at St. Anthony's Manor until her death. Billie was known for her excellent cooking and card playing (thanks to Bud). She was known for her quick wit and opinions. She made many good friends while living in Rawlins, and at St. Anthony's Manor. Billie spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was very proud of her job working at the front desk at St. Anthony's, which allowed her to know all of the residents and staff by name, as well as visitors. Billie is survived by 5 children: Daughter Linda Allen (Michael) of Long Beach, CA., son Walter "Buddy" Smith (Vickie) of Casper, twin sons Brian Smith of Rawlins and Blake (Teresa) Smith of Lander, and daughter Donna Martensen of Casper, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud in 1996, an infant son William Smith and infant granddaughter Jennifer Dawn Martensen. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Manor and Central Wyoming Hospice.
