Glenn Norton 10/5/26 - 3/6/14 Longtime Casper resident, Glenn Norton, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 11 at Highland Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife, Wilma, who preceded him in death in 2003. Glenn was born October 5, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas. He married Wilma Bird in 1947, and together they made a home in Casper, Wyoming; where Glenn established a business, and they raised a family, two children, Susan and Ron. Their life was filled with adventures. When the children were grown, they began living a lifelong dream of spending their winters in Hawaii. There they had many close friends. Later they traded their Hawaiian winters for world cruises, and spent the next fourteen years exploring together. When Glenn lost Wilma in 2003, his children worried that he would lose his love for adventure without his traveling companion. Glenn surprised everyone. He continued making annual trips to Jackson Hole, along with his little dog. He also visited Susan in Alaska. Every spring he made sure that the flowers that Wilma loved so dearly were planted in her garden. He also continued to work at his business with his son Ron until his final days. Glenn is survived by his daughter, Susan Sulley and her husband Mike, of Alaska, son Ron Norton of Casper, Wendy Norton of Casper, four grandchildren, Shaun and Jason of Alaska, and Nicole and Natalie of Casper, and four great grandchildren. He was a kind, gentle man who was dearly loved by his family and friends and he will be in our hearts forever. Glenn had a favorite charity. Each month he would take a donation to the Casper Humane Society office. In lieu of flowers, he would have loved to see donations made in his name go to the Humane Society.
