Glenn Richard Geise died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 2, at the age of 85 of complications from Alzheimer's. Glenn was born on September 9, 1926 in New Underwood, South Dakota to Richard and Leona Geise. He had one sister, Geney Geise. Glenn grew up working on a farm. He graduated from Washakie County High School in Worland, Wyoming in 1944. He then enlisted in the Army Air force and served until the end of the war when he was honorably discharged. In his younger years he liked to ride his Harley and fly airplanes. He even owned his own plane. He also liked to dance and roller skate. He met his wife Beverly Ann Brauer at the Roller skating rink. They were married July 8, 1951 in Worland, Wyoming. They had three children. Early in their marriage they lived in Worland, Glendive Montana, Black Thunder, Rock Springs, , working in the oilfield industry as a welder and machinist. For a brief time Glenn and his family moved to Idaho Falls where he was partner in a home building construction company, settling in Casper in 1957. Glenn was a well known and highly respected Machinist in the oilfield Industry for 50 years. He worked at several different machine shops, and in 1974 started his own business when he opened Glenn's Machine shop. He designed and fabricated several different oilfield fishing tools. There wasn't anything mechanical he couldn't do, from fixing cars to building his own home. Glenn loved his work, and was a perfectionist. He worked until the age of 78 when an accident at work forced him to retire in 2004. At that time he turned over the business to his son, Richard, who had worked there with him from the age of 16. Glenn was a man of few words, and was generous and used talents in many ways to help people in need. Glenn loved to fish, hunt, work in the garden and take naps. He was a member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church, Vive La Joie, and the Casper Petroleum club. In his later years, Glenn and Bev liked to dance and go the Senior Center, they also attended a senior fitness class together. Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of 61 years, Daughter, Linda (Ron) Hein, Daughter Janet (Carlo) Zambai and son, Richard (Edna) Geise. Grandchildren Jeremiah (Summer) Towers; Angela Zambai all of Casper, Anthony (Amber) Zambai of Parker Colorado, Katie (Kevin) Rohrer; Stephanie (Dave) Wright; and Christopher (Lindsey) Towers; all of Casper, and Megan Geise, of Laramie and Casper; and 8 great grandchildren, all of Casper. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Geney. He is greatly loved and cherished by his wife and family and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be from 8a.m. to 8p.m. Friday, September 7 at Bustards Funeral Home Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8, at Mount Hope Lutheran Church, with Reverend John Hill and Reverend Ron Garwood officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Graveside services will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers' memorial donations may be made to Mount Hope Lutheran Church and school.
