Gladys Silva

Gladys Frances Jane Silva of Kona, Hawaii passed away on April 9th 2023 in Casper, WY. Gladys was born on the island of Maui, Hawaii to John and Victoria Carvalho on May 23rd 1941.

Gladys attended Kohala High School and graduated in 1959. Gladys worked at Hartford insurance for her first job but her passion was with children so she became a sitter for hundreds of children and later fostered many more.

Gladys enjoyed reading, outdoor activities, spending with family and playing with her grand and great grandchildren.

Gladys was also a devoted Jehovah's witness and attended the Kingdom Hall for many years until her husband's passing and her decline in health.

Gladys is survived by her Aunt Minga, brothers, Henry Carvalho, Everett Levi; sisters, Irene, Sheryl Levi, Bernadine Levi, Teresita Cruz; her children, Sheirell Medeiros, Randy Silva, Chamaine Gaspar, Delwyen Silva, Marlena Silva(Kumm); her step-children, Robert Silva, Larry Silva, Evon Chandler and Donna Silva; 46 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.

Gladys is preceded in death by her granddaughters, Jerrica Gaspar, Sherakee Kumm; her son, Robert "Bobby" Silva; her husband, Robert C. Silva; her daughter, Debbie Fuentes; her brothers, Ronald Carvalho and John Carvalho.

Viewing will be held on April 17th 2023 from 4-6pm at Bustards Funeral Home.

Services and Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on May 20th 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Casper.
