Gerald “Dean” Martin, 64, passed away Saturday, February 17th, 2024, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY after a long battle with illness. Gerald was known as “Dean” by his friends and family.
Dean was born Tuesday March 31st, 1959, to Leon Lewis Martin and Helen Angeline Martin in Farmington, NM. Dean grew up in Montrose, CO where he attended Morgan Elementary before he moved to Grand Junction, CO where he spent his young adult years. He attended R5 High School.
He met the love of his life, Rosemary “Rose” Martin in 1980. They spent 44 years together, spending most of their time moving around to various places including Colorado, New York, Arizona, Florida and Wyoming. Dean and Rose had 3 children, 1 son and 2 daughters.
Dean spent his working years as a truck driver. He had a knack for fixing just about anything. He was a very hard worker with the need to keep himself busy.
He was a great storyteller. He had the ability to remember great details. He had a love for old pickup trucks, motorcycles and big rigs. Dean was kind, loving and a good friend to ones that knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Dean is survived by his wife, Rose Martin, his son, Isaac Martin, daughters Ami Martin and Amanda Martin, granddaughters, Haley Atkins, Jessi and Isabella Martinez, grandson David Martin, and great grandchildren, Ashton and Emryn.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Maria Angeline Atkins, parents Leon and Helen Martin, younger sister Ruth Ann Martin and half brother Larry Holmes.
