George Keralis

George John Keralis passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at the age of 89 in Casper, WY. The service is set for Wednesday, June 6th at 2:00 P.M. at Bustards Funeral Home. George was born in Casper, WY on April 21, 1929 to John Keralis and Evelyn (Orten) Keralis. He was part of the ROTC program and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1947. While attending Casper Junior College, he and Harry Farrar built a Stanley Steamer. In 1951 he married the former Evelyn Moss from Riverton and was married for 53 years to her until her death in 2004. He was a heavy duty diesel mechanic for Cubusco, Western Oil Tool and Wyoming Machinery Company for 27 years. He was requested many times by specific mines to work on their equipment. He was loved and admired by all he worked with. He and Evelyn were avid fisherman and hunters over the years. He enjoyed reading, especially at the Natrona County Public Library. He was a member of the 1% committee which oversaw improvements at the library. Most of all George had a strong work ethic. He loved to work and did not retire until he was over 70 years old. Neighbors frequently saw him working outside in his yard after his retirement. He loved doing home projects. He was proud of his Greek heritage, as well as being a loving parent, grandparent, great grandparent, and Trooper Drum and Bugle parent. George is survived by his companion of 14 years, Marylou Moore, his children: Dr. George Keralis (Connie) of Gillette, Michael Keralis M.D. (Robin ) of Lincoln, Neb., Barbara Derby (Michael) of Casper, Veronica White (Clayton) of Casper. He is also survived by his brother Frank Keralis of Riverton. as well as eleven grandchildren and 10 great grand children. He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, and sister Penny Board of Casper. Internment will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Casper, followed by a reception at the Casper Senior Center. The family would appreciate memorials in lieu of flowers to the Natrona County Public Library and the Casper Senior Center.
