George Johnson

George Arthur Johnson, 89 of Casper, WY was born October 26, 1924 in Pike View, Colorado. George passed away October 12, 2014 in Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, for brothers, and one sister. George owned and maintained Johnson Roofing Company for over 30 years with his son Troy F. Johnson until his retirement in 1997. He was a lifetime fisherman as well as a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. His spirit will live on in the heart of those who know him. George is survived by his wife of 54 years; Carol J. Johnson, sons; Troy F. Johnson of Casper and Charles A. Johnson of Colorado, daughters; Sherri L. Wilkens of Casper, Georgia A. Penn of Kansas, and Billiejo Johnson of Casper as well as many other relatives, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnson served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater from 1942 until he was honorably discharged at the end of the war. Military honors will be conducted by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard at 11:00AM, on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, WY. Memorial contributions in George's honor may be made to Wyoming Wounded Warriors, the Casper Humane Society or Natrona County Meals On Wheels.
