George Edward Hill passed away January 15, 2013 at Central Wyoming Hospice following a lengthy battle with cancer. George was born in Riverton, WY on March 23rd, 1950. As a child, he spent much of his time on his stepfather's Mitten Ranch on "The Sweetwater". He developed a great love for that area and the ranching lifestyle. He graduated from Riverton High School in 1968 and shortly after married Sylvia Isaac, and they had 3 children. They later divorced. As a young man, George worked a variety of jobs including farming, ranching and in the oil field as a derrick hand. Most recently he worked as an over-the-road truck driver, which turned out to be his passion. He loved the open road. George was preceded in death by his father, Howard Poe Hill, his Mother, Violet May Iturrian, his sister, Grace Lorraine Stokes, and his brother, Howard John Hill, his stepfather Benny Iturrian, and his dear friend Susan Guthrie. Daughters, Renae Thayer and Michelle Cantine, a son, Jeremy Hill, two grandsons, Donovan and Patrik, Dee Hixon, Tess and Jon Chavez, and all their children and grandchildren, and several extended family members and close friends, survive George. Services will be held at Bustard's Funeral home in Casper, WY at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 20, 2013. The family requests that donations be made to Central Wyoming Hospice, or the American Cancer Society, as we are so grateful for their extraordinary care.
