Gary Lee Stone was born Sept 28, 1943 to Marvin James and Lola (Bracy) Stone in Sundance, Wyoming. He grew up in Huron, S.D. where he attended school and enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in Germany. Following his Honorable Discharge from the Army, Gary worked as a commercial elevated water tank painter for many communities in the Midwestern States. He married Lynnette Arlette (Hurst) in Huron, S.D. in 1966. Together the couple had three children, Cannon, Leah, and Ryan. Gary and Lynnette later divorced in 1981. Gary married Sharon Rae Covey in Casper, Wyoming in August of 2006. He gained two children Sanya Wilson and Heith Attaway. After Gary and Lynnette married, they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Gary started to work for Briggs Transportation. In 1973, he was transferred to Cheyenne, Wyoming for work, and later left that job to work for Northwest Home Improvements in Casper, Wyoming. Gary began his construction career hanging siding. He purchased a gutter machine and began building his own business Rain Away Gutters. Together with his son Ryan, they have installed over ½ million feet of gutters in Central Wyoming. He continued working until his recent ill health. Gary was always prideful in his work and he always felt that it was important to do it right the first time. In 1998, he purchased Vern's Fishing Lures LLC from a customer where he would "twist some lures" during his down time. Through this hobby and business, he was able to provide excellent fishing gear for many others to enjoy. Gary enjoyed big game and pheasant hunting, fishing-especially ice fishing, riding his Harley Davidson, shooting his guns, reloading bullets, sky diving with over 150 jumps, camping, four-wheeling, and drinking wine. He had many friends through the Abate Club of Casper, where they rode free. He will be remembered fondly by his many friends that he made through his many hobbies and businesses. He is survived by his wife Sharon of Casper, WY, his children Cannon Stone (Susan) of Colorado Springs, CO, Leah Schmidt (Matt) of Redfield, SD, Ryan Stone (Kiley) of Casper, WY, Sanya Wilson (Bobby) of Minot, ND, and Heith Attaway (Kasey) of Casper WY; 18 grandchildren, Chandler "CJ", Makayla , Tyler , Sarah, Barrett, Katelyn Camryn, Laynie, Carter, Sawyer, Meghan, Alexis, Dallas, Braydon, Trinity, Madison, Andon, Brooklyn; and four great grandchildren.
