Galen Harvey

August 1, 1931 — June 19, 2017

Galen Joseph Harvey age 85, of Casper, Wyoming went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 19, 2017. He had battled severe cancer for the last 4 years of his life. Born in St. Francis, Maine to Alphonse and Florine (Jandreau) at home August 1, 1931. Galen served in the in the United States Army Corp. as a Sergeant E-5 in the Artillery and Tank Division, as well as Sergeant with the Battery Division in the Army National Guard of Maine. He married Joanne Dube' in 1954, having a daughter in 1955, then moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1959, having his first son in 1960. They were married 21 years. Galen worked for Boatright and Smith driving trucks, he also worked with American Pipe Supply Company in the Wireline Division over 20 years. In his later years he worked for Whitlock Trucking, wherever he was needed the most. The garden, was his pride and joy. Galen designed and built his life size nativity scene that was displayed at Whitlock Trucking every year. It has since been donated to St. Anthony's Church by the Whitlocks. In 1990 he married Tina Wharton, and had his second son in 1993. He enjoyed fishing, boating and working with on things with his hands. Galen is survived by his children, Joyia Harvey-Tighe (Bill), Kim (Christy) Harvey and Joshua (Ashley) Harvey. Granddaughter's, Allison McGriff, Angela Robinette and Catherine Brummett and and 4 great Grandsons. Sisters and brothers: Dorianne Mitchell, Christina McBreairty, Eileen Jandreau, Trena Spooner, Wayne Harvey and Ron Harvey and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Florine Harvey a brother Merrill Harvey and two sisters Jeanine Morin and Susan Jackson. The memorial service will be held at Mountain View Baptist Church in Mills, Tuesday June 27, 2017 at 11 AM, reception to follow at the church. Burial will be at Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery afterwards.
