Floyd Dale Volker was born in Casper, Wyoming April 13, 1960. He was the son of Floyd William Volker and Joanna Ione (Tilton) Volker. He grew up in Casper and graduated from NCHS in 1978. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman and the University of Wyoming, earning a Bachelors Degree in business. He attended the Culinary Institute of Colorado, and went on to earn his Certified Club Manager certification. Dale worked most of his life in the restaurant and club management industry, pursuing his passion for food and wine. His vision and talent were instrumental in the design and development of the FireRock Restaurant. He managed the Powder Horn Golf Community in Sheridan, WY, recently returning to manage the Casper Country Club. Known for his work ethic, he was the consummate profile. Dale was a natural athlete, excelling in every area he chose to pursue. He was passionate about tennis, basketball, water skiing, scuba diving, flying planes, fly fishing, hiking, running, just to name a few! He was a nationally ranked tennis player, hiked the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim (46 miles) twice in four months, and was determined to master the art of surfing in Costa Rica. He was also teaching himself to play the guitar. He was actively involved in the community, always striving to make a difference. His main focus in life was his family and friends. His heart held a special place for animals, especially the beloved golden retrievers that had touched his life. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Floyd; brother-in-law, Mike Bartsch and niece, Evangalina Housel. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Paula Ford Volker; mother, Joanna Volker; sister, Lori Stilwell and her children, Lindsay, Ashley and Dixon; Linda Schmidt (Ted) and children, Alexandria and Winston Housel; Lisa (Dick) Bratton and children, Mackenzie, Shea and Sierra Bartsch.
