Florence Collinsworth

Florence "Corky" Collinsworth, 80, passed away May 29, 2010 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center peacefully surrounded by family. Our loss is great; however, we are comforted to know she is now pain free and in God's loving hands. She was born March 13, 1930 in Columbus, NE to Edwin and Florence Porter. She was educated in Nebraska and worked as a telephone operator, bookkeeper, cook, and cashier. Corky married Joseph (Hack) Supanchick 1951 in Ogallala, NE. They lived in Brule, NE. until moving to Casper in 1968. The couple later divorced. After raising her five children, she moved to Ohio and met and married Johnny L. Collinsworth on October, 1983. After her husband's death in 1989, she returned to Casper to be near her family and friends. Corky was caregiver to Hack until his death March 1991. She later met Lionel Hamel and enjoyed travel and companionship until his death in September, 1997. She was a Life Time Member of VFW 9439, Past President and board of Directors of Boys Club of Wy, Inc. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her sister Joann, going to Bingo, reading, and sewing. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Lonnie and wife Karen (DeYoung) Supanchick of Crescent Valley, NV, four daughters; Joleen and husband Dean Olson of Cody, Peggy and husband Eddie Jacobs, Becky and husband Allen Huff of Casper, and Tammie and husband Bill Scheetz of Glenrock, Grandchildren; Jennifer (Mike )Scott, Michael Huff, Cory (Mandy) Hanna, Brandy (Brant)Marshall, Travis Jacobs, Amber (Nate) DeYoung, and Jade (Becky) DeYoung, Great Grandchildren Echo Stoneking, Devin Scott, Contessa and Lorenzo Andrade, Lane and Cimarrah (China Girl) Marshall, Kayla and Brooke Hanna. She was preceded in death by husbands; Hack Supanchick and Johnny Collinsworth, Companion; Lionel Hamel, Sister; JoAnn Porter, brothers; Edwin Porter and Donald Porter and parents: Edwin and Florence Porter. Viewing will be held Sunday June 6, 2010, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Monday June 7, 2010, 8:00AM to 12:00 Noon at Bustard's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, June 7th, 2:00 PM at the Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Dale Fitzsimmons officiating. Immediately following the service, a lunch reception will be held at her daughter's house 3714 Salt Creek Hwy, Casper, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Corky's name to Shepherd of the Valley Care Center, VFW 9439, or to the Casper Humane Society.
