Evelyn Gertrude Weber (Mickie Cureton) passed away peacefully at her home in Casper. Wyoming at 88 years of age on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Mickie was born January 3, 1923 to Nanny Abagail (AbaDean) McCastlin-Weber and Edwin George Weber. She was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, graduating from Natrona County High School in 1941. She and her husband, Lloyd Dean Cureton of Fredericktown, Missouri, raised 5 children; 4 girls, Randalei Ellis of Spearfish, South Dakota, Kristalei Reese of Westminster, Colorado, Debbilei Moore and Tracalei Walton of Casper and 1 boy, Russell Lloyd Cureton of Longview, Washington. Mickie, as she was affectionately known, had several favorite hobbies such as leather craft, painting, crocheting, playing darts, camping, fishing and rock hunting. She received a teaching certificate and several awards for her ceramics and other art works at local and state fairs. At 79 years of age, Mickie won a dart competition and received a trip-to National Finals in Las Vegas. Mickie was a strong, independent person and a pioneer of women. She drove logging trucks, busses, long-haul and chauffeured officers to and from the airbase during the war. She also owned and operated a bar and grill in Alcova during the building of Pathfinder Dam. She commemorated her life stories in a book that she had published. Mickie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lynndom Weber of California, her husband and three grandchildren, Stephanie Cureton, Raistlin Terry of Spearfish, South Dakota and Jack Ellis of Rapid City, South Dakota, and two great grandchildren. She is survived by all of her children, 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was a loving.mother who dedicated her life to her children. She will be greatly missed by all. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Bustard's Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Adams of Grace Bible Baptist Church officiating. Cremation has been held.
