Esther Louise (West) Dahlstrom, age 88, of Evansville, WY went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2018 in Casper, WY. Born at the Reed City, MI hospital on March 24, 1929 to John B. West, a pastor and Lino-typist, and Elsie M. West, and was raised with her six siblings in Leroy, MI. Esther received a diploma from Grand Rapids Baptist Bible Institute in Bible Studies, and married John (Jack) F. Dahlstrom on August 1, 1949. She and Jack continued Bible studies at Western Baptist Bible College, then together ministered under Hiawatha Land Baptist Missions in Wisconsin for several years. Eventually they settled in Denver, CO where they lived for nearly 40 years, before moving to Wyoming. While in Colorado, Esther was a homemaker raising her four children, eventually receiving her Real Estate license. She will be remembered as a nurturer, mentor, Sunday school teacher, seamstress, avid flower gardener, and cookie baker for the church and neighborhood children. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, and will be deeply missed. Esther was greeted in heaven by her husband Jack, her parents, her brother David, and her sister Mary, as well as a great granddaughter, Zoe. She is survived by her siblings, Marjorie (Clyde) McGee, Dwight (Grace), Stephen and Dan (Judy) West, her children Ruth Newquist, David (Sarah) Dahlstrom, Becky (Harold) Wilson and Deborah Dahlstrom, Nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at Liberty Baptist Church located at 1203 S. Oak St. Casper, WY, on February 24th at 10:00 a.m. Opportunity will be given to share favorite memories and stories of Esther. The family would like to thank The Wyoming Medical Center and Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions for their kind treatment of our mother. We will always be indebted to the staff at Kloefkorn Home for their compassion and attentiveness to Mom as well as her family as we grieved. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude for the friends and church family who came to sing, pray or sit with us all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Liberty Baptist Church and will be distributed by your designation to the Kloefkorn Home at Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, or Liberty Baptist Church for their important role and contribution to her life especially throughout this difficult time. Esther would also have been blessed by donations sent to one of her favorite ministries, Campus Bible fellowship, specifically her niece Sharon Keller and husband Mike for their diligent service at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
