Mr. Ernest Sabec died on January 19, 2016 at the Wyoming Medical Center, at the age of 93. He was surrounded by his wife Evelyn and entire family for his last 48 hours, by his side, and died painlessly and in peace. A lifelong resident of Wyoming, he was born February 25, 1922 in Diamondville, the son of Paul and Anna Sabec. He attended schools in Diamondville and Kemmerer, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah. Ernest was in the U.S. Air force during the WWll, serving overseas in Italy as a Navigator flying in a B-24 with the 451st Bomb Group. He remained with the Air Force Reserves, Completing 33 years of Active and Reserved Armed Forces duty, retiring with the rank of Colonel. He worked for Amoco Oil Company for 34 years. When he retired in 1981, he was Superintendent of Construction and Turnaround. On October 16, 1948 he married Evelyn Clemens in Casper, at the first Presbyterian Church, of which he was member. They enjoyed more than 67 years with each other. Ernie will be missed for his kind and generous heart. He enjoyed time spent with his family and traveling with them. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Frank, Sister Annie, stepbrother Frank Homer, and baby great-grandchild Alexis Turner. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three children, Paul (Margo), Ken (Dawn) and Marian Stevens; four grandchildren, Scott, Erin (Tom), Mark and Elise (JD); four Great-grandchildren, Bayleigh, Mason, Peyton and Carter, and several nieces and nephews; as well as countless friends, many of whom came to regard Ernie as their surrogate father, mentor, and confidant. Services will be held at the first Presbyterian Church in Casper on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Tippin officiating.
